BAGHDAD, July 21 (Xinhua) -- At least three people were killed and 16 others wounded in a second bomb explosion at a marketplace in Baghdad Shiite neighborhood of Sadr City on Tuesday, an Interior Ministry source said.
The blast took place around midday at the crowded marketplace in Gaiyara area in Sadr City in eastern Baghdad, the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
Meanwhile, the death toll from a bomb explosion on Tuesday morning among a group of construction workers in Sadr City neighborhood rose to four and 31 others injured, the source said.
Earlier in the day, the police put the toll at three killed and 25 others injured when a makeshift bomb went off among dozens of construction workers who were waiting to be hired for daylong jobs in the impoverished slum of Sadr City.
Also in the day, a separate roadside bomb explosion near a Sunni mosque of Adelah Khatoon in Bab al-Muadham area in downtown Baghdad killed one civilian and wounded 13 others, the police said, citing the latest reports.
Earlier, the police announced that six people were wounded by the blast.
Another car bomb explosion before midday outside a fuel station near the al-Rasheed wholesale vegetable market in Baghdad's southern district of Doura left two killed and six people wounded, according to latest police reports.
The police, earlier, put the toll at a civilian killed and four others injured.
The attacks came three weeks after U.S. troops pulled out of Iraqi cities and towns in line with a security pact signed late last year between Baghdad and Washington.
