KATHMANDU, July 27 (Xinhua) -- Four people have died and one has gone missing after they were washed away by the swelling Kamala River following the incessant monsoon rains Sunday, local news website Nepalnews.com reported on Monday.
Nepali Police have recovered four bodies from various places inSiraha, along Kamala River, some 120 km southeast of Nepali capital Kathmandu.
One of the victims has been identified as Rajeshwar Mahato of Mahottari,a district neighboring Siraha. The other three have not been identified.
Meanwhile, the Prithvi Highway, connecting Kathmandu and the western tourism hub Pokhara, some 180 km west of the capital, was also blocked briefly on Monday morning due to a landslide. Trafficon the highway has resumed after the landslide was cleared, according to the report.
