NEW DELHI, July 27 (Xinhua) -- Six Indian policemen were killed Sunday in a landmine blast triggered by the extreme left-wing rebels, or Naxals, in the central state of Chhattisgarh, reported the private Indo-Asian News Service on Monday.
Four policemen were killed on the spot when the landmine exploded in a radius of 20 meters in the state's restive Dantewada district, 350 kilometers from the state capital Raipur. Two injured policemen died in hospital, said the report.
Over two dozens Central Reserve Police Force troopers were riding in two vehicles late Sunday when a powerful landmine blast hit one of them, said the report.
Four other policemen are still fighting for their life in hospital, said the report.
At least 200 policemen and paramilitary troopers have been killed by extreme left-wing rebels since the beginning of this year, according to official estimate.
