President Susilo takes lead in KPU ballot tally

JAKARTA, July 23 (Xinhua) -- Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono took a huge lead at the official tabulation of the result of presidential polls on July 8 by the Electoral Commission.

So far the commission has manually counted 12 out of 33 provinces.

President Susilo and running mate Boediono got 59.73 percent to26.22 million votes, followed by former President Megawati Soekarnoputri and his vice president candidate Prabowo Subianto 25.11 percent to 11.31 million votes and Vice President Jusuf Kalla and running mate Wiranto 14.39 percent with 6.31 million votes.

Earlier quick surveys put President Susilo and on top of presidential polls with over 60 percent votes.

The commission is expected to complete counting on all the province on Friday, and would announce the final result on July 27.
