SRINAGAR, India-controlled Kashmir, July 23 (Xinhua) -- Suspected militants killed a man and his three-year-old son in India-controlled Kashmir on Wednesday, Indian police Thursday said.
A police spokesman in Srinagar said suspected militants Wednesday night barged into the house of Mohammed Aslam Awan and shot him from a point-blank range in Pahlipora-Denaroo village of Shopian, 64 kilometers south of Srinagar.
"Thirty-year-old Awan and his three-year-old son, who was in his lap, died on the spot after receiving bullets," police said.
Meanwhile, police has registered a case and started investigation to nab the suspects.
Early April, Awan survived a similar attack on him, in which his 50-year-old mother fell to the bullets then.
During the past few months, suspected militants carried out several targeted killings in the area.
